Yes, it snowed! No, we can't play in it!!! When it's -20 degrees, usually the longest you can stay outside is for maybe ten minutes. Then, you're begging someone to "please tell me my hands are still attached!" and "Do you have some hot chocolate to thaw me out?!" The snow in Montana is different from any other kind of snow in any state I've lived in. Interestingly, I don't seem to recall that much snow in California (read sarcastically), but what I remember in Bellingham was always wet stuff that seeped through your clothes, the snowman type. The snow here is as dry as a bone, no moisture, and you can see your breath freezing. Sadly, you can't make even a snow ball out of it. Outside in the snow, it's so still. It's beautiful in Montana after it snows. The sun comes out...but it does absolutely nothing to heat up the day. It just makes the sky a brilliant blue, paints the landscape with bright light, and lets you see the true beauty of snow. Our kittens hate the snow...big shocker!! But our horses cope with it, and Jackson absolutely LOVES it! He buries his nose in it, and just begs you to come play in it. That picture is the Billings rim rocks in the snow. Snow is great.
